The Opportunity

About the Team
The Principal Product Manager will be joining the AOS Core Data Path team at Nutanix, based in Bangalore. This team is dedicated to innovating and enhancing Nutanix's high-performance storage framework, focusing on ensuring data integrity and optimizing storage efficiency. With a culture that emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and a customer-centric approach, team members are encouraged to share ideas and drive results as they tackle complex challenges in distributed systems and enterprise storage solutions.
You will report to the Director of Product Management, who fosters an inclusive and empowering leadership style, promoting open communication and cross-functional collaboration. This role will operate in a hybrid work model, requiring the hire to be in the office a few days a week while also allowing for flexibility in remote work.
This position does not have any required travel, enabling the Principal Product Manager to focus on their strategic initiatives and collaboration with the team while maintaining a work-life balance.
Your Role
- Define and champion the long-term vision and product strategy for Nutanix HCI storage.
- Act as the primary gatekeeper for the product backlog, prioritizing features based on data-driven insights and market analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering, UI/UX, and architecture teams to ship high-quality features and enhancements.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for storage functionalities, including storage efficiency technologies and IO performance improvements.
- Provide ongoing field support to ensure high customer satisfaction and engagement.
- Partner with Product Marketing and Sales Engineering to develop impactful technical content and field enablement programs.
- Conduct continuous discovery with enterprise Infra admins and IT buyers to identify and address emerging needs in storage infrastructure.
- Achieve first-year objectives by successfully launching key storage features and driving user adoption within target markets.
What You Will Bring
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related fields; MBA is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, specifically in enterprise-grade storage solutions or distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of storage efficiency technologies, storage IO performance, and Nutanix HCI capabilities.
- Proven ability to prioritize a product backlog based on data-driven insights and market analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in influencing distributed teams and delivering on commitments.
- Experience with APIs, cloud-native storage, and infrastructure services (IaaS, PaaS) preferred.
- Ability to conduct continuous discovery with enterprise infra admins and IT buyers.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
